pp108 : Setting User Preferences

Setting User Preferences

This topic describes the options available to user preferences.

You can set your own preferences for the Process Platform applications. For instance, you can specify the applications to be launched or the App Palettes to be displayed when you log in to Process Platform. You can also modify some display aspects, the notification preferences, locale and so on. The settings provided here will override any other settings.

  1. Click in the Shortcut Bar. The CUSP - Preferences App Palette appears. The App Palette comprises the General, Startup Applications, Views and Account Settings tabs.
    • The General tab displays options that can be used to customize the Process Platform display.
    • The Startup Applications tab displays applications that are configured to open in CUSP at startup.
    • The Views tab displays available App Palettes. This includes the default App Palette and personalized views that you create. In this tab, you can specify the App Palettes and views to display in CUSP.
    • The Account Settings tab displays the user account details.
  2. Make appropriate modifications in the General tab:
    • To specify the time duration for which a notification message must display before fading away, type the value (in seconds) in the Notification Time field.
    • To specify your preferred language, select an option from the Language preference drop-down list. Change of language preference takes effect only on relaunch of the Process Platform browser and can take 10 minutes to become effective.
Note: The Language preference drop-down list is populated with the languages that are supported by Process Platform, deployed from application packages, and used in published CWS projects. Therefore, all the Process Platform user interfaces or My Inbox user interface are translated only to the languages that are listed by default. Using custom languages (published languages from CWS projects), users can view translated user interfaces in applications developed within those projects.
    • To specify your locale, select an option from the Locale drop-down list. The locale is used to set the appropriate display formats for decimals, amounts, and other values.
    • To specify your time zone, select an option from the Time Zone drop-down list.
  3. Drag an application from any App Palette on CUSP (such as the My Applications App Palette) to add it to the Startup Applications tab.
  4. Make appropriate modifications to the applications added to the Startup Applications tab:
    • To launch an application at startup, select the application and select (Enable).
    • To stop the launch of an application at startup, select the application and select (Disable).
    • To remove an application from the tab, select the application and select (Delete).
    • To refresh the tab, select (Refresh).
  5. Make appropriate modifications in the Views tab to manage personalized views that display when you expand the My Applications App Palette:
    • To display a personalized view, select it and select (Enable).
    • To hide a personalized view, select it and select (Disable).
    • To remove a personalized view from the tab, select it and select (Delete).
    • To refresh the Views tab, select (Refresh).
  6. Make appropriate modifications in the Account Settings tab:
    • To change the password select Change Password and provide the required inputs then select Update.
  7. Select Apply > OK.

The user preferences are saved and applied to Process Platform when you next launch the Process Platform application.
